You Just Made The List ... Santa's Naughty List, To Be Exact
FAR BE IT FROM US to want to be negative during the holiday season, but let’s face it: There are a few wicked folks in wrestling who surely must have made it onto Santa’s naughty list this year. In this edition of the PWI Weekly, we single out those grinches most likely to ruin the festive spirit for someone. (Heck, maybe everyone.)
FYI: The PWI Weekly team will be taking a well-earned break for a few weeks, so this will be our last edition until Monday, January 12. We hope you have a safe holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2026!
LIV MORGAN
Not only is Liv Morgan naughty, but she does it with a smile. Between her unhinged promos, sneak attacks, and dumbfounding devotion to Dominik Mysterio, she’s an all-around menace in WWE. Since her return from injury in November, Morgan seems meaner than ever, to boot.
None of this bodes well for her opposition. We aren’t naive enough to think “La Guerita” cares about making anyone’s naughty list either; being bad is something Morgan has always excelled at. Rather than sitting on Santa’s lap, the former Women’s World champion is more likely to yank his beard, steal his gifts, and go sit on the lap of “Daddy Dom” this holiday season.
DON CALLIS
We often wonder: If Don Callis brought his entire “family” home for the holidays, just where on earth would everyone sit? With his ever-expanding stable of wrestlers, you could be forgiven for thinking that Callis is a benevolent leader concerned only with the success of his clients. Kenny Omega might beg to differ with that. History has shown us that Don is Callis by name and callous by nature. You can be sure that when he is done exploiting the considerable talents of the wrestlers he manages, he will discard them like he has so many others—that is, if those wrestlers don’t smarten up to his ways first. We’ve also heard scuttlebutt that Callis won’t give his charges Christmas Day off from training. Even Ebenezer Scrooge wasn’t so cruel!
FRANKIE KAZARIAN
If his gaudy sunglasses and scarf combinations weren’t enough to make Santa think twice, then the manner in which Kazarian became TNA World champion most definitely landed him in the naughty column. When Mike Santana finally won TNA’s top title at Bound For Glory, it was unanimously praised as a good thing. Santana’s triumph was the culmination of a redemption story and had a feel-good vibe that was easy to support. None of that mattered to Kazarian. Before Santana could even make one title defense in TNA, the opportunistic “Kaz” cashed in his Call Your Shot trophy and quickly pinned a tired and wounded champion on IMPACT. Bah-humbug!
EVIL
The chair shots, the low blows, the constant outside interference—no naughty list would be complete without New Japan’s most detestable fellow. The House of Torture leader has been, well, torturing NJPW fans and wrestlers for years now with his antics. Yet, this hasn’t hindered EVIL’s selfish pursuit of gold. The current NEVER openweight titleholder is in his fourth reign as champion, mostly thanks to the aforementioned shenanigans during his matches. However, on January 4 at Wrestle Kingdom, EVIL will face a tough test as he defends his gold against the debuting Olympic gold medalist Aaron Wolf. Hey, Aaron? Don’t expect EVIL to play nice.
HIJO DEL VIKINGO
Once one of the most beloved luchadores in all of Mexican wrestling, Vikingo began to feel the wrath of crowds some months ago. In his defense, he didn’t really seem to do much to deserve such vitriol. Despite his best efforts to ignore it and go about his business, the boos grew louder. It’s unsurprising, then, that the former AAA Mega champion had had enough and decided to embrace his villainous tendencies. We can’t excuse him for that, though. Rather than succumb to the dark side, perhaps Vikingo should have taken a page out of the John Cena playbook. For years, Cena continued to play the role of hero despite the chorus of boos that greeted him. Even a brief interlude as a rulebreaker this year just didn’t sit well with him, and, before long, Cena reverted to his normal demeanor as a fan favourite. Will Vikingo follow suit? We will have to wait and see. For now, he’s definitely on the naughty list.
