Shake It Up: Visions, Dominions, & Debuts
THE WORLD CUP is over (congratulations Spain!), but the world of wrestling keeps on spinning. With SummerSlam on tap this weekend, expect the WWE landscape to get a bit of a shakeup. Appropriately, this edition of the PWI Weekly focuses on some figures who have been shaking things up throughout the sport.
We’re also taking the chance to send birthday wishes to a man who has been shaking up the business for some time. Enjoy!
FACTION OF THE WEEK
A little more than a month ago, The Vision seemed to be in tatters. Logan Paul was out with an arm injury, while Austin Theory & Bron Breakker had lost the WWE World tag team championship to The Street Profits. Then, everything turned around. The cause of it? Well, it seems like Maxxine Dupri has played a big part.
Though the former Alpha Academy woman’s “interest” in Theory makes her judgment very questionable, there’s no denying that she has added an extra layer of danger to The Vision. And while no one will confuse Dupri’s managerial expertise with the decades that Paul Heyman brings to the table, Dupri has her own advantages. Frankly, the results speak for themselves: Once again in possession of the World tag team title belts, her charges have been on a winning streak as of late. For the first time in a while, The Vision’s future is looking clear.
A QUICK WORD ABOUT …
If you aren’t paying attention to Divine Dominion, then you’re missing out on one of the most dominant tandems in modern wrestling. For a duo that has only been tagging full-time since March, Lena Kross & Megan Bayne already have to be considered one of the tag teams of the year.
The aura that the pair brings is transformative—it seems to shift the energy of any card on which they appear. And then, the two powerhouses shift the vertebrae of their opponents in the ring. We’ve given them credit on the PWI Weekly before, but the Dominion’s continued dominance as AEW Women’s World tag team champions makes it a point worth repeating.
SPOTLIGHT ON …
Mike Santana long ago proved what happens when undeniable talent meets raw grit. Throughout his life, Santana has taken on challenges, and, more often than not, has come out on top. The former TNA World champion now stands at the precipice of an all-new challenge in WWE. Introduced as the latest full-time member of NXT on July 21, Santana immediately made his intentions clear: He wants the NXT Men’s championship.
Given Santana’s track record, we like his chances. Watch out, Tony D’Angelo.

It was about this time that Haley J regretted being anywhere near The Giant Gretta. This wild action shot was taken at the NWA Crockett Cup taping earlier this year. Since then, Gretta has been striking fear into the hearts of women across the National Wrestling Alliance, all while providing more than a little help to the NWA World Women’s champ, Tiffany Nieves.
TERRITORIAL DISSINGS
Happy birthday to Paul Levesque, who turns 57 years old today. While he’s probably hard at work in his trademark suit, we kind of hope he took the day off to relax … maybe even slipping into some comfy old clothes, like these ones from his WCW days as Jean Paul Levesque.
