PWI Weekly for March 23, 2026
Talkin' Bout A Revolution (An All Elite One)
AT THE CRYPTO.COM ARENA on March 15, AEW put on a banger of a pay-per-view. Revolution gave fans a feast of fighting, fun, and holy-fudge highlights that shook up the All Elite Wrestling landscape. In this edition of the PWI Weekly, we’re bringing you our thoughts on some moments that had us buzzing around the office water cooler last Monday morning.
WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
While we could have easily gone with MJF here, we’ve decided instead to give props to another AEW titleholder: Continental champion Jon Moxley. At Revolution, in a No Time Limit match against Konosuke Takeshita, Mox proved that when it comes to in-ring wrestling, he can compete with the best. Often maligned for his reliance on brawling and outside interference, the Death Riders frontman went toe-to-toe with Takeshita for north of 20 minutes, eventually putting him away with straight-up wrestling ability. To do so against “The Alpha” was no easy task. To his credit, since entering and eventually winning the Continental Classic last year, Moxley has improved his standing among AEW fans. Furthermore, he has done it with his wrestling ability.
TAG TEAM OF THE WEEK
When Penelope Ford recently went down with injury, it seemed like any tag gold aspirations of her partner Megan Bayne would follow suit. Not so, as it turned out. Regrouping with a new partner in the form of Lena Kross, Bayne recommitted to her goal of dethroning the Babes of Wrath. At Revolution, the newly christened Divine Dominion did just that. While the efforts of Harley Cameron and, in particular, Willow Nightingale—who had already wrestled a singles match earlier in the evening—proved admirable, the duo was no match for the towering challengers. The AEW women’s tag division now has a new gold standard.
A QUICK WORD ABOUT …
Much as Megan Bayne found success with a new partner, so, too, did the jet-setting duo of Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight. With their regular trios partner Adam Page focused on his main-event World title bout with MJF, Bailey and Knight called in the services of Mistico. The choice proved to be an inspired one. By the end of the group’s match against the Don Callis Family, AEW had itself new trios champions.
Mistico is a genuine superstar in Mexico. The reaction to him at Revolution suggests he could someday be the same in the U.S.
AND ANOTHER THING …
Of all the surprising things to come out of Revolution, the appearance of Ronda Rousey has to rank near the top of the list. The former UFC and WWE champion made an immediate impression by targeting Toni Storm after the “Timeless” one’s hard-hitting battle with a longtime Rousey ally, Marina Shafir. While, on the surface, the clash of personalities between Rousey and Storm should make for interesting television, a match between two of the most highly decorated women in combat sports is really the mouth-watering prospect. Sadly, with Storm reportedly out of action for the foreseeable future, wrestling fans will have to wait for that big-money showdown.
UMM … via OUCH!
Many times, a picture really does say a thousand words. In this case, though, it screams one: violent. That’s exactly what the AEW Men’s World title bout between MJF and Adam Page was. In the end, it was the Burberry-wearing blowhard, MJF, who survived the Texas Death Match to leave California as champion.
