With last week’s unveiling of the PWI “500” issue, I’ve been very busy making appearances to spread the word about the issue, while also fielding some great questions people have about how our annual ranking is compiled.

While I’m confident in our decision to rank Kenny Omega as #1, I stand by the fact that Roman Reigns was a very close contender for that spot. (And, for his part, Kenny seems to agree.)

What do you think? Did we get it right with Kenny? Should it have been Roman? Maybe someone else entirely? Drop me a line and let me know. —KM

Big E celebrates with the WWE title belt

After years of having seemingly all the tools to be a world champion, Big E finally ascended to that role on Monday night—cashing in his Money in the Bank briefcase to defeat Bobby Lashley for the prestigious WWE championship. While a tough break for the dominant Lashley, it was a feel-good moment for the former NXT champion, who, with the victory, also found himself reunited with his New Day compatriates, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, on the red brand. Congrats, champ!

You might not realize it from some recent editions of the Weekly, but the PWI Vault isn’t just old photos. In fact, it’s growing all the time. The above photo, of “Filthy” Tom Lawlor showing off the NJPW STRONG openweight championship belt, was taken at the recent NJPW Resurgence event in California. Stay tuned for more photos from that event in the January “Women’s 150” issue of the magazine.
